oh, and another thing.

To those Flight of the Conchords fans out there (and soon to be fans once you read my blog and discover how freaking funny these guys are), you need to see Eagle Vs. Shark. also check out the "official website."

We rented it at the buster last night and absolutely loved it! I loved the characters, the cinematography, everything. Love love love. Great flick. I want to go to New Zealand for shiz.

bottomless.pit.

.....is me. I am eating like there's no tomorrow. Here's what I've eaten today:

-Jimmy Dean Crossiant with Ham Egg Cheese (too many calories to admit, but it was dang tasty!) Not as bad as some, I must add.
- A Bowl of store-bought make it yourself miso soup. (only 60 calories, but only satisfying for a short period of time)
- A Weight Watchers Double Chocolate Muffin/Cupcake? Pretty dang good, and not too bad in the health dept. More cals than the miso for sure.
-Then I came back from my lunch outing with jess (Target = danger) and then I was STARVING. So, I ate a big bowl of rice w/ veggies.
- Still hungry? Yes. I am now eating pretzels. Thank God there's only an hour left of work or I would have found something else to inhale.

What's wrong with me? I've eaten a TON of food today. I seriously feel like on the weekends, I barely eat, but the weekdays, it's all I can think about! UGH! Make it stop!

I think it must be this new B.C. pill. Not only does it make me feel like super psycho woman, but I'm starving and subconsciously thinking that it's making me this way and that I'm gaining weight. I need to buy a scale. No I don't.

Word to the wise: Don't ever try to just google image "bottomless." I didn't even think of the repercussions this would have. Sick. Bottomless pit just didn't do it for me, so I was going to be funny and put a pit of a fruit with something bottomless. Why didn't I think that human bottoms would be the first thing to show up? Sigh....

I love Sirius Radio Channel 26, Left of Center. Damn, it's got some good tunes.

Moving is going to suck this week. Someone come do it for me, please? I will give you a million kisses. (what's funny, is that I just changed "dollars" to "kisses" so some poor soul didn't think I acutally had a mil sitting around somewhere.)

And the Kills ask, "am i the only sour cherry on your fruit stand?"

shock me like an electric eel

I am totally, whole-heartedly, psycho-ly in HEART with the MGMT album, Oracular Spectacular. My poor work neighbors are probably going to ring my little MGMT-loving neck.

Also, I like to cook. And make saucepan-lid boobs. Photos courtesy of the boyfriend.

tonight is tonight.

two blogs in one day. i'm so cool.

so, some exciting news. i was um, yea, well, ok, fuck it - i was googling myself tonight, and i found something very cool. my photos were featured in a blog!  the post is almost "mocking" Nashville as she lives in lovely San Francisco now  - so I understand her point of view.... but, the pics are obviously representative of our fab little city!!!
check it out!!

also, this was my dinner. but it's also my life.
do you ever feel like the lone shell in a box of whole wheat penne?

today is today.

Today is today.

I have bug bites. Like crazy ones. Do I have leprosy?

I hate the fact that it's Monday and not Saturday.

I just had an incredible turkey burger with Swiss and sauteed mushrooms on an English muffin from, believe it or not, Cheeseburger Charlies. It was effing incredible. Not a DROP of grease. I ate the whole thing and feel fab. aaaah...food gives me satisfaction that no man could provide.....maybe?

I also am currently noshing on a direct-from-Heaven chocolate chip cookie that is probably 85% chocolate chip. The best way.

I attempted to go to THE coffee shop again today. Bad choice. Absolutely not a single muffin for sale. Shitty latte. Why do I subject myself to this boo-shee? Because I missed my turn to take the road to the new place. Oh, silly self.

I'm busy. Life, work, life.....life.

I want a vacation. C'mon, who doesn't? I want to go back here. We may be going back in December. It can not come soon enough. *we = the mom and the sis. :)

Damnit. Cookie is gone. Well, it was good while it lasted. I will dream of you, cookie.

The Orange Bicycle just let me get a whiff of some serious cheese. May be an afternoon, post-cookie taste endeavor?

I'm ready to move. We found renters!! I worked my everlovingass of last week trying to find the perfect candidate, and we gave our landlord two different options. So I hope she chooses wisely and we get a break on our July rent. In the new place, I think the walls are wood paneling (yes, it's 1987.) Can I paint those? Anybody know?

why i love blogging.

As a quasi-new member of the blog world, I am still finding things that I love about blogging every day.
Some examples:
One - a friend was having a bad day. a really shitty, bad day. i could see it in her face. i said, "hey man, what's  wrong?"  She said - "ugh, read my blog."  I did. It explained everything. We hugged it out.
Two - I got to experience a blog/real life connection last night when at a party, two blog buddies (who did not know eachother in real life), met in person.  I was watching them talk and I thought to myself, I know that this person is Chester Copperpot, and I am going to bet that this person is The Blonde Mule, because I was told by The Orange Bicycle who she was!
I watched them introduce themselves and chat - and then within about 3.2 minutes, they realized, 'WAIT - ARE YOU CHESTER COPPERPOT?? WAIT - ARE YOU THE BLONDE MULE??" It was glorious.  I love blogging.  Chester turned around and said, and THAT'S Muggins Mouse! I'm kind of new to blogging, so I've only dabbled a little in The Blonde Mule, but I recognized her name and I believe she recognized mine!  It was great. Cyber buddies actually now know eachother in real life!

Blogging is amazing, and it gives us a way to vent, brag, complain, question, or just randomly type. Blog therapy, for sure!!  No, there is nothing that can beat human interaction, but it's still pretty damn cool.

honest to blog.

if i was in an 80s hair band.....

I would look like this. That's me, second to left, and center.
It was my third year the Music Row Ladies Golf Tournament, which is always a rockin' great time. Free booze and food all day - not to mention, it's on a Monday, so no workie work. A little bit of golf, a lot of sun, and this year, a lot of aqua net. Every year, teams compete for the best dressed. I think we got the shaft as we looked pretty damn amazing. But, that's ok. We still had a blast!!
Until next year..... :)

2) The Orange Bicycle made me a wristlet. I love it. I'm tres excited.

3) I took some baby photos of my friend Lacey and her lovely son. Here's a sampling. I'm very happy with the way they turned out. Beautiful family.

4) It's hot. Effing hot. I want to be on a boat if it's gonna be this damn hot.

effing quiche.

So, there is a local coffee shop (who will remain nameless) that I really have tried to remain loyal to, but I just don't think I can swing it anymore. I'm going to write a citysearch review on them. And it's not going to be pleasant. Jess thinks I should write a letter, but I'm just to the point where they've lost my business, and my$20+ a week might not affect them, but some other shop will welcome it with open arms I'm sure.
When Caffeine, my favorite of favorite coffee shops, closed down, I started going to this new place. I loved the location, liked the atmosphere, but it just wasn't the same. The following list are the reasons why I will no longer support this business.
1) Bitchy, rude old lady (I'm guessing a manager) who obviously doesn't appreciate her customers. Walks around with the biggest frown on her face. Seems aggravated that people are there. Very strange. I mean, who wants to be in the presence of someone like that?
2) The bones in my chicken salad. Sick.
3) The plastic-y tasting steamed breakfast sandwiches. First off, eew. Who wants a soggy, steamed bagel with chemical tasting ham and cheese?
4) The rude (all but one very nice employee who always makes my day) staff! I can't stand going into a place where the employees actually seem like they're doing me a favor by pouring my coffee!! I'm a PAYING customer, people! I don't come in there thinking I'm better than you, please don't think you're better than me. Just make my fucking latte, smile, and be nice, like I am. Maybe this is my "small-town" coming out, but I love going to a place where they make an effort to remember their regular customers. I'm in there several times a week for the past year almost, and they act like they've never seen me before! I mean, they're never that busy that they can't remember their regulars.
5) The ridiculously high prices. $6 for a latte? No thank you. I'll go to S-bucks and pay $4 for the exact same drink. And it will taste better every time.
6) The inconsistency of quality of their drinks. Last week I had curdled soy in my latte. Every time I'm in there, the drink (I pretty much get the same thing every time) tastes different! It all depends on who you get. That shouldn't be the case. I understand and respect that with a local small business that each person can add their own flair to a drink, but the basic drink has to at least taste similar every time! I want to know what I'm getting, and get what I'm paying for. That is not the case at this place.

And the last two incidents were the "straw," so to speak...
Last week, I had a "free drink" coupon. It's a rewards card where you fill it up, you get a free drink. Similar to several other places. Well, I get the same thing 99% of the time. My $6 latte. UGH. So, I go in last week to redeem my free drink coupon, and I get the same thing that I always get, and PAY for. So, I order, and the girl working goes, "really? is this free? that's a really expensive free drink." I am flabbergasted, and nicely say, "well, I get this every time, so it's kind of relative, right? Actually the guy yesterday felt bad for me because my drinks are always so expensive that he gave me two punches." (as I tried to chuckle shyly). She rudely continued "yea, well, it's still an expensive free drink to order." She gave me my drink and I huffed out, shocked that someone could be so rude. What a bitch! I spend SO much money in that shop, and my FREQUENT shopper free coffee is given to me in such a way, that I am DONE. It wasn't even that tasty, to boot.
Well, this morning, I decide to give them another shot. Actually, I was going to try a different place a little further off my to-work route but I was running late. SO, I go in (craving a muffin) and there's NOTHING. Not a single muffin, no bread, nothing. Dare I try another steamed mess on a bagel, so, I see quiche as a special. I've never had a great experience with their food, so I'm a little skeptical, but I order it anyway. Turkey sausage, spinach, and cheese. Sounds delish, right? So I wait for a good 5 minutes for him to heat up my (very small, expensive slice of) quiche, and take it to work. Fuck coffee, I don't want "her" making it for me, so I get a fruit drink made in some factory somewhere far away from their employees.
I sit down at work with my $7.50 breakfast (UGH) and it's DISGUSTING. A soggy, wet, funky tasting spongy MESS. I got through a few bites and gave up. Instead of light, fluffy, eggy, cheesy, it was soggy, wet, funky, spongy. The eggs were brown because of all the liquid it had soaked up from the sausage. Whoever made this quiche does NOT know how to cook for shit.
So, as I threw away my overpriced, horrible tasting breakfast, I vowed never to go there again. Truth be told, I probably will, but only if I'm desperate.
effing quiche.
