Irish Setter from Fido.

almost too pretty to drink....but I did, and boy was it tasty!

The huur is back to dark brown. I must say, I really miss the red/pink! Don't miss the orange though.... :)

believable doubt

So, the red's gone. I loved it, but it faded quickly. It was quickly becoming an orangey-pink color, that I was falling out of love with. Plus, I just get bored so quickly...it was time for a change. I've really been wanting to go back to brown....not the black brown it was at one point, but a pretty medium brown. Well, I bought some "light ash brown" hair dye last night, and the picture on the front (I should have noticed when purchasing) was much darker than light ash brown... I was going for the picture, not the description. Final result - I got the description, not the picture. It's brassy and a little red-orange all over. icky poo.

So, needless to say, I'm going to re-dye it tonight. Who knows if I'll like being a brunette again - I was kind of hoping to go even more blonde in the next few weeks - but $10 on a box is so much cheapter than $150 on a pro job. I just can't rationalize it. Especially when I spent $130 on clothes yeterdsay. UGH. Whatever, it's worth it. I got a great pair of jeans. Love. :)

My mom broke her leg on Friday night, silly mama...... she's sad and lonely so I'm debating going home this weekend to clean the house and cook her meals and walk the dog. She needs a break. Haha, no pun intended.....

Emilee, one of my bestest friends in the world, was here this weekend. Just for Sat/Sun night, but we had a great time. We went to Rumba last night and for three hours drank and ate and laughed and talked shit about what people were wearing and had a great time. I love her!

another food review...two, actually!

mmm, cheese.

This Green Giant Cheesy Rice And Broccoli has become one of my recent favs. It's a perfect little lunch - it is a small portion, but filling, and pretty healthy! And, it's got veggies in it. So you're getting some servings there.... I just love it. And, who doesn't love cheese? Microwaveable, perfect for the o-fice!!

Also, I had this starbucks drink today totally by accident. Emo Mul ordered a mutual favorite between us - the Chai Green Tea Latte (iced), but they accidentally made her a Green Tea Lemonade (iced, duh - no whip!) - and I ended up with it! Lucky moi! I wasn't even planning on ordering a drink! Just looked it up, and it's only 100 cals!! HECK YES! It was so tasty too! I will definitely order it again!

Today is Friday, THANK GOD. Yesterday at work we had our "bring your kids to work day" and I am on the committee who plans and runs the event. Wow, no kids for me for quite some time...... I was friggin wrecked. Slept like a baby. Tonight the work ladies and myself are grabbing some margs and horrible-for-you-but-tastes-so-good Mexican at Rosepepper - mmmmmmm......I can't wait for 5pm.

park day

A few weekends ago, the bf and I had one of the best days we've had in a while. It was much needed. We decided to take my camera and use the rapid shot to make our own silly movie. Here's the final result.  He made it for me one night last week while I snoozed away on the couch....I woke up and he was so excited to show it to me. It's very sweet and simple.  it was really a day to remember.... :)

just a splash

So, I did something sorta spontaneous this weekend and allowed someone to give my hair a little splash of color! She's an apprentice at TRIM and needs hair models for her classes. I've done it for one of her classes before, but this one was a little more drastic! It was very unplanned and last minute - had I have been given too much time to think about it I probably would have chickened out.. but I'm so glad I didn't! I was going for "fire engine red" and it ended up a little pink....but I still love it!

pumpkins and pictures

So, I sold two photos last night on my etsy shop. I'm THRILLED! It's so exciting when a perfect stranger purchases your artwork. And, I have a friend from college who is purchasing a large panoramic photo as well - so I couldn't be happier! I wish I was selling a photo every day, but maybe some day.... :-) I need to set up a stand somewhere or something during a festival.....oh, thoughts....

I made these amazing muffins last night. I found the recipe on recipezaar - which if you are not aware of this site, it will change your world. Thanks to Emo Mul for turning me on to it! I was reading hungry girl and read that subbing pumpkin instead of oil/eggs is a much healthier alternative when baking.... so I "zaared" pumpkin muffins and came across this great recipe. I saw all the positive feedback so I had to attempt this. I followed the basic recipe, but used golden butter cake mix and added chocolate chips to some of the batter...so I had some regular and some not-so-healthy ones.... and I added allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. They're GREAT! A little sticky, but very moist (sorry Jess), and dense and satisfying. They'd be great in the fall/winter.... but I love those spices year round. I brought some in to work to share with my ladies...and got pretty good feedback. So I consider it a success.

Excited about the weather. Excited about drinking beer tonight! mmmm.....beer. Excited about sleeping in tomorrow. Excited about people buying my photos and eating my muffins.

back scratching

back scratching. feet touching. perfect.

am i old enough for wrinkles?

I'm 24. Will be turning 25 in August.

I recently noticed that I'm developing what most would call "a wrinkle" below my eyes.

This is not good. I must buy some cream.

I'm trying to determine when this "wrinkle" came about. It must have been recently. I am under a considerable amount of stress at work. Could that cause it?

Am I old enough for wrinkles?

Is this a sign of things to come?

I'm not ready to grow up.

aaah, squash.....

buy me. eat me. love me.

I give Cascadian Farm Organic Winter Squash an A++++++! Not only does it fill you up and only have 50 calories and pretty much NOTHING ELSE besides yummy goodness and fiber, it's UBER TASTY! My suggestion: add a dollop of butter and sprinkle with cinnamon. Warning: it looks like baby food and your co-workers might think you have problems, but they'll be asking what that great smell coming from the kitchen is.....

yum.

holy wasabi, batman!!

So, in my constant (yet often half-assed) effort to live a healthy lifestyle by exercising and eating healthy, I get bored. I try to experiment with different types of healthy food options because really, one can only eat so much spinach.

My newest love/hate relationship is with the Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame, WASABI flavor. Now, don't let the cute packaging deceive you. The m'r f'ers are INSANE. LITERALLY, TEARS RUNNING DOWN YOUR FACE INSANE. I imagine that eating these cute little wasabi coated edamame produces a similar effect to literally snorting wasabi. They are strange beasts though. You pick up one bean, it's mild, with a hint of wasabi flavor, yet nutty and pleasant. Then, you pick up another bean, and it GETS YA GOOD. Literally, I must eat one at a time because I took three at one time once, and I almost had to call a medic. My problem is that I haven't yet deciphered which of these deceiving little cute beans are the deadly ones. So, until then, it's a Russian Roulette of when are my sinuses gonna be good and cleared out?

But somehow, no matter how much pain they cause me, I can't stop eating them....

Review: A++ for those who love getting their sinuses lit on fire. B for everyone else (only because of the shock factor). A little less wasabi, and they'd be PERFECT.

muggins mouse. why, you ask?

This is where Muggins Mouse came from. A childhood book that I used to read (although I must admit, do not remember). My name is Meghann, so as a child, I guess I couldn't say my name very well and it ended up coming out as "muggins." It stuck. My dad still calls me Muggins. The mouse has been dropped, but I find the name Muggins so fitting and happy. I hope I'm not infringing on any copyrights here.....

home-to-be

some photos. I can't WAIT! I'm too embarrased to put up the picture of my room because the furniture is just so bad in there, and the pics aren't very good. i'll put some up once i have taken over. :-)

cold = overrated

seriously? I thought it was mid-April.

Why is it 41 degrees outside?

I hope Cord's tulips that magically appeared in his yard don't die. They make me smile.

So, the roomies and I are moving. July 1. It will be a glorious change that I have been ready for. While I will miss Kenner Ave, Woodleigh Drive will be just as welcoming to my shenanigans. It's about 5 minutes closer to work and downtown, more spacious, and cheaper to boot! (by the way, does anyone know the reason for the meaning of "to boot"?) If so, please enlighten me with your thoughts as to where the hell that saying came from.

My new room in the house will have wood, cabin-like walls, so I'm excited to see how this matches my black furn. I took some pics on my roomie's camera so I will post them. The current tenants have noveau-country style, so please imagine it without the quilt and white farm furniture. The new house has a back yard with a fab patio that will be perfect for grilling and fire-pitting, so get ready folks.

Monday. Ugh. Cold Monday, TO BOOT.

letter opener

I'm hooked. Totally addicted.

Who wants to open letters with their hands? I mean really.

been too long

I figured it was finally time to do this. I can't hold off any longer. Joining the bandwagon. The fourth person in my work-friend circle to do this. I'm very excited about blogging. I have been blogging on myspace for quite some time, but it's too public. I don't want some random bands reading about my personal life!? SO, here I am, blog world. Get ready. I have thoughts. I want to write them down.

I think, therefore, I must blog.

Disclaimer: You're choosing to read this. So if I offend you, tough shit. :-) I also might misspell things, or use bad grammar. And you know what? I can. So there. :-) What's funnier, is that I actually spell checked this blog before I posted it, just to see how bad it is, and I misspelled the word "misspell." ha. Oh, I also use those little side smileys (otherwise referred to as emoticons I believe?) WAY too often. So welcome to my world. My nutty, stressed, relaxed, drunk, sober, asleep, awake, love, hate, laugh, cry little world.

Today is quite possibly the strangest weather I've seen in some time. Is it sunny? Yes. Is it pouring down rain? Yes. Are there tornado sirens going off? Yes. All of these things have happened today. In very random patterns.... now, it's sunny, but horribly dark and ominous. vierd.

I'm tired. I took a Zanax. I needed it.
